We are aware that choosing the right school for your child was an important one. Please watch our 2022 Starters Open Day video. Additionally, you may like to join us for our Open Day on Wednesday 19 October at 09:00 or 14.15 in The School Hall – each session will last no more than 45 minutes..
The application process for Year 3 junior school places opens on Monday 31 October 2023. Applications are due by Sunday 15 January 2023. Parents/carers will be notified of school places for Rowner Junior School on Friday 14 April 2023.

Below, you will be able to find all the information and links that you need to apply to enroll your child to Rowner Junior School which is proud to be part of The Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust (GFM). The first policy below references our admissions for September 2023, the second for 2021 and the third for 2021.
Timeline for applications to Year 3 for September 2023
Online application system opens – Monday 31 October 2023
Parents of children resident in Hampshire (not including Portsmouth or Southampton) wishing to apply for a place to start school or transfer to junior school (including schools outside Hampshire) can apply online. Paper forms are also available on request from any Hampshire schools or the County Admissions Team.
National deadline for Year 3 (junior school) applications – midnight, Sunday 15 January 2023.
The online application system will close at midnight on this date. Paper application forms should be returned to a Hampshire County Council school during school hours or the County Admissions Team. Any applications made after this date will be processed as late applications.
National notification date – Friday 14 April 2023.
Online applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by e-mail. They will also be able to log into the online system to view their application outcome. Parents who submitted an on-time paper application will be sent a letter on Friday 14 April 2023 by first-class post. Letters will also be sent to online applicants, in addition to their e-mail, who were not offered a place at their first preference school.
Enquiries regarding application for Main Round admission to Year 3 for September 2023 should be made directly to the County Admissions Team in the first instance.
Admission Appeals Timetable for Year 3 in Sept 2023 – TBC
Appeals for transfer to Primary School – Year 3
- Deadline date for parents wishing to lodge an appeal (returning completed appeal papers to the school is 20 May 2022
- Year 3 appeal hearings to be held 5 & 6 July 2022
- Decision letters to be sent Within 5 school days of hearing
- Appeals lodged after TBC May 2023 will be heard on the above date if possible, or within 40 calendar days (excluding school holidays) of the appeal being lodged. Appeals lodged after the beginning of June will not be heard until the autumn term.
- Following the lodging of an appeal, additional (evidence) papers may be submitted to Miss J Hathaway, GFM Admissions Officer – deadline dates for this will be advised during the appeal process. Evidence submitted after the date advised may not be considered in your case.
